The Regional Water Transmission Riverside Road Project includes the installation of approximately 36,000 LF of 24” and 760 LF of 16” water transmission main from Old Hickory Road near Waxhaw Village, continuing south down Old Hickory Road and Riverside Road, then turning west along Hwy 9 and ending at LCWSD’s existing 24” main near Grace Avenue. The project implements a significant project in LCWSD’s capital improvement plan, will address redundancy and reliability needs and provide additional system capacity to help meet regional water demands.
Over the past couple of years the project has been designed, permitted, bid and awarded to State Utility Contractors, Inc from Monroe, NC. State Utility Contractors and their sub-contractors have begun surveying/staking and installing erosion control measures. Clearing will begin on the southern end of the project near Environmental Way (previously DHEC Road) and Grace Avenue and continue east along Hwy 9 and then north for the remaining project area. Pipe installation is planned to begin near Environmental Way/Grace Avenue in June of 2025.
